The slogan of Waldman Funeral Care, established in 2013, conveys Funeral Director / Owner Syd Waldman’s personal approach: to deliver “Extraordinary Service, Compassionate Care” to the families served. Waldman calls Waldman Funeral Care, LLC his “sacred calling” that was inspired by several years in the industry and experiences within his own family. He founded the company with the desire to create a service-based entity that would get to the core of what’s most important to people: someone who could focus on the details and take the burden off families when they’re dealing with an often-overwhelming flurry of tangible and emotional aspects. A native of New York and resident of Houston since 1983, Waldman is active in the community: *A 30+ year member of Congregation Emanu El, Waldman served as President of the temple’s Brotherhood group, served on the Board of Trusties and has for 20+ years been a member of Emanu El Memorial Park’s Board of Trustees. *He has been a volunteer or rider with the annual MS150 ride from Houston to Austin since the early 1990s. *Serving in Lions Clubs International, as a Past President of Bellaire Lions Club, Spring Branch Lions Club, and serving as the district 2S-2 Treasurer as well as Zone Chair several Terms. *He also volunteered with Literacy Advance of Houston, helping Adults become proficient in the English language. *Served on various committees for his neighborhood civic club for several years.
