About The Detroit Association of Black Organizations, (dabo), Inc.

Thepurpose of this organization shall be as follows. To enable the Black community to come together,to work together, to reason together and to act together, consensually, in theBlack community as well as the total communitys transcendent interests. Toachieve maximum empowerment of the Black community. To foster and uphold thedignity and the integrity of the Black community. To provide the basis for amore enlightened and responsible public opinion in the non-black community onthe important problems and interests of Black people. To advance the cultural,economic, political, and social interests of the Black community at all levels,local, state, national and international. To be a vigorous and unremittingadvocate and preservator of the civil rights of Black people, and to be anaggressive and uncompromising defender whenever those rights are imperiled.
