Dentistry is the very meeting of art and science. It seemed a natural career choice for Dr. Seyfried, an artist, and painter in her own right; Dr. Seyfried is also a "woman of firsts". She is one of the first women to graduate from the University of Michigan Dental School (the only woman in her graduating class), the first woman to sit on the board of directors for the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, one of the first women to achieve a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in Michigan, one of the first women to establish a solo private practice and the first woman DDS in Birmingham. Dr. Seyfried is committed to not just treating symptoms, but to treating underlying conditions in order to prevent problems from recurring.
