About Richard Hildebrand
I have been a auto racing fan for over 65 years. My interest has included Indy Cars, Sports Racing Cars - GTP, IMSA, Can Am, Trans Am, Land Speed Record, "Stock" Car Racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, Rolex World Endurance Championship etc. I saw my First race at Langhorne Speedway outside of Philadelphia, PA in June of 1962, At that time, Langhorne was the world's fastest 1 mile race track. It was a circular dirt track that was a regular part of the Indy Car National Championship Circuit, In December of 2003 my wife gave me a 1/18 scale model of the car that won the Indy 500 driven by A. J. Foyt. She found a "Special" so she bought 2 other cars - Dan Gurney's Spa F-1 1967 winner for her and Jimmy Clark's 1965 Indy 500 winning Lotus 38 - 4 cam Ford. for the 2 of us. I then discovered eBay and began collecting 1/18 scale replicas of the Indy and Sprint Dirt cars that I saw run at Langhorne and Trenton in the 60's and 70's.
