About Life's Medicine
Life's Medicine was born in 2012 out of a genuine passion for helping people. My name is Dr. Ana Isabel Lopez, I am a board certified Family Practice physician and have focused my medical career on common endocrine and medical conditions as well as helping patients obtain their ideal weight. The conditions themselves, as well as the medications used to treat them, can significantly reduce the quality of life. Additionally, being overweight but otherwise healthy can also negatively affect a persons disposition and outlook on life. I have been in practice for 21 years. The first 13 years, right out of residency, were extremely rewarding, yet frustrating. The frustration would come from having to deal with the third party payer (aka insurance) and trying to do what is in the best interest of the patient. Insurance companies did not re-emburse for weight loss counseling! I was always trying to keep my patients off of medications. We were not always on the same page.
