About David Malakov, DDS

Dr. Malakov's main emphasis is on comprehensive treatment planning and reconstruction to restore patients to their ideal oral health, function and aesthetics. While he specializes in severe cases of periodontal care, he is experienced at the routine care and treatment as well. Generally, to begin your first visit, Dr. Malakov will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, in order to check for any signs of gum-line recession, bacterial issues, a proper 'bite', the health of the jawbone and the strength of your teeth overall. In addition, he will use a probe to examine the distance between your teeth and gums, in order to determine the overall depth of the spaces known as periodontal pockets - this allows us to ensure your overall health and wellness, as the larger these spaces, the more bacteria is present. In other cases, where there are issues with the gums, surgery might be necessary.
