About CARR FOR CENTER

Amy Carr (known in the district as "Mrs. Carr, the art teacher,") plans to dramatically disrupt the current state of Center School District #58. Having resigned from teaching in the district due to overly stressful and unsafe working conditions, Carr decided to run for the school board in an effort to ensure quality schools for her son and her community. Carr has observed understaffing and stressful working conditions that has led the district to fail in its fundamental duty to prepare students for success in life. Teachers are leaving in droves due to unreasonable workload, out-of-control behaviors, and lack of support from administration. As a former student, recent teacher, and current parent in the Center School District, Carr plans to use her Masters in Education and years of experience as a professional educator to return the district to its former status as a quality, safe, and fun place to teach and learn.
